The Municipality of Amsterdam, The Municipality of Haarlem and SRO participate in the EU-funded LIFE GREEN PITCHES project (2022-2027) which aims at stimulating circular, biobased, non-polluting, climate proof and energy positive innovative sports pitches, using the innovative, durable ‘Scale Up’ tendering method.
LIFE GREEN PITCHES will implement the Scale Up method Future-proof Artificial Sport Pitches in order to stimulate cooperation in the market for artificial sport pitches, and to facilitate consortiums to design and apply their innovative and sustainable solutions.

We are another step ahead! The selection has been finalised after a careful process. We have selected 3 main contractors for the installation of sustainable artificial sport pitches in The Netherlands. Over the next 10 years, they will install a maximum of 270 innovative artificial sport pitches at football, hockey and korfball clubs in Amsterdam and Haarlem. By doing so, we invest not only in sports, but also in a pleasant and sustainable environment.
The selected main contractors (in alphabetical order) are:
- Antea Sport
- Finovi
- Van Kessel Sport en Cultuurtechniek, part of Gebr. van Kessel SCO BV
These 3 main contractors each represent their own consortium with several market parties. Together they combine knowledge of innovative solutions from the sports sector with related industries and institutions. The solutions offer opportunities to reduce heat stress, generate energy, store water and reduce CO₂ emissions.
